For all values of a, graphs will intersect at the point (0,2):

For a = 1

When x = 0

Therefore, x = 0 and y = 2 no matter which value is chosen for a.


When a = 0, this equation will no longer be of the second degree:

Therefore, the resulting equation is of the first degree and represents a straight line.
