Born in Atlanta, GA, I have never lived outside the state of Georgia.  I began my life living in Tucker, GA, but then I moved to Lilburn, GA where I went to Camp Creek Elementary School, Trickum Middle School, and Parkview High School.  I graduated from Parkview in 2002, and went to the great University of Georgia and obtained a BSEd in Mathematics Education.  I am now a graduate student here at UGA working on my MSED in Mathematics Education as well as getting my Gifted Certification.  I have always wanted to go UGA since before I can remember.  My first UGA football game was against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, SC when I was six months old.  Since then, I have spent almost every Saturday afternoon or evening in the Fall cheering on my Georgia Bulldogs.  Besides my passion for UGA football, I also wanted to come to UGA because of their outstanding mathematics education program.  My mom, who is also a high school math teacher, went to UGA for college.  Many of her oldest and best friends she met here at UGA and when I was little, I always enjoyed listening to their stories about their time spent here.  My mom is definitely one of the people I look up to the most and one of the biggest inspirations in my life.  I look at all she has done as a person and a teacher, and I know that she is who I want to be someday.

As for me outside of school, I love to dance.  I began dancing when I was 2 ˝, started competing when I was 5, and started teaching my own classes when I was in 7th grade.  I now currently help out with teaching classes, choreographing routines (competition and show), directing shows, and basic office work at my studio.  I also love to play ultimate frisbee.  I got into frisbee first by going to watch my fiancé and one of our best friends play during spring and summer leagues with the Atlanta Flying Disc Club (AFDC).  I then got to know many of the people in the league, and so I started playing as well.  It is an awesome sport with awesome people and I recommend everyone at least try ultimate once in their life.

Currently one of my biggest interests/activities outside of school is my wedding planning.  The time if flying by and the wedding will be here before I know it!!!  I can’t wait!!!!  I truly treasure my friends and family and I am having a pretty big wedding so that I can include everyone.

I love dogs of any kind.  I have two dogs.  My family dog that I have grown up with, we adopted from Petsmart adoption days and her name is Snickers.  She is part Sheltie and I love her dearly.

For my fiancé’s birthday, I gave him a Catahoula Leopard puppy.  We got her from the PAWS adoption center, which is a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats, and named her Bella Luna.  When we got her, she was about 2 1/2 months old, and now that she is 4 months old, we believe she is in, what humans call, her terrible twos.  The truth though is that she is just so darn cute, that we cannot stay mad at her for long.

So that is pretty much me in a nutshell!!!!  What do you think???
