When a and b are equal and k varies as an integer we get an "n leaf rose" for integers greater than or equal to 2. To animate this n leaf rose, follow this link.
When a=0 we obtain a circle for k=1, and a "2k leaf rose" for even values of k, and a "k leaf rose" for odd values of k. again to animate these graphs follow this link.
