Given the following equations and graphing them you can tell how the graph changes with b changing.

It is in the same y =mx+b form expect for the fact that it is just not simplified. These equations would help students really understand the equation better.

These equations show how the graphs of squared equations look like and how the graph moves up or down on the y axis as the b in the equations changes.

These equations show how the graph moves form left to right on the x axis as the constant in the equation changes

With these graphs and equations you could help students understand how the equations look if they were graphed and it would also help in being able to understand the equations a lot better. If the student were to see the different equations of the graphs and see how the change in b effects the graph, then they would be able to better understand the concepts of functions better.
