Not only are fractals fun and interesting, they can be used to make multiple connections to various areas of mathematics. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics has stressed the importance of making these connections in its Principles and Standards for School Mathematics. Not all of the following will apply, depending on the level of mathematics you want are able to reach.
* Numerical Patterns
* Geometric Patterns
* Area
* Pascal's Triangle
* Limit Concept
* Visualization
* Modular Arithmetic
* Logic and Truth Tables
* Similartiy Self-similarity is a property
of many , but not all, fractals that is recognized most commonly.
Self-similarity is when a figure contains figures wihtin itself
that are small replicas of the whole. Take for example a tree.
The tree itself has branches, and the branches have twigs. As
the tree grows, more branches and twigs are produced.
