National Flowers and Their Symmetries

As a jumping off point for students to do investigations of their own, here we present several countries and their national flowers. Similar to the method described on the page of symmetries of the flowers on campus, the reader should first decide what they believe the symmetry to be and then click the icon to learn our interpretation. At the end of this page are some interesting links which may aid in further study of the different countries or the plants in particular. If a reader finds other web sites which they deem significant, please send the URL to jklerlei@coe.uga.edu and they will also be added to the list at the end of this page.

Clicking this link will allow the reader to see some national flowers that have symmetries which are more difficult to determine.

Included below are some pertinent links for continued study of several of the countries listed as well as some of the flowers shown. There are also some connections to sites that have information which is not discussed above.
