Amplitude - Today the word is used to describe the
distance a periodic function varies from its central value. Thus,
a higher amplitude means a graph completes more periods for given
x values.
Magnitude - We will use this word to describe a graph's
maximum y-value. Graphs will have a greater magnitude when their
maximum y-value increases.
