Constructing a Triangle

by Jennifer Whitmire

Construct a triangle and its medians.

Construct a triangle whose sides are the length of the three medians of your original triangle.

Construct your own triangle from medians.

How do you construct a triangle from another triangle's medians?

First, construct a triangle, and find its medians.

Next, copy one of the medians. Construct a circle at one end point with one of the other medians as the radius, and construct a circle at the other endpoint with the last median as its radius. Find the intersection of the two circles. Connect the intersection to the endpoints.
