  1. Find the cost of baking Chocolate Chip Cookies
  2. a) Go to www.publix.com or www.harristeeter.com

    (DO NOT ‘ADD THE CART’)

    b) Find the price for each of the following ingredients. Then compute the price per unit (price per ounce).

    c) Find the total cost for making cookies.

    d) Subtract any coupons, online or newspaper.

    e) Add 6% sales tax. (Do not add shipping charges)

    f) Find the total cost.

    Ingredients Quantity Brand Price per Unit Cost

    2 cups brown sugar

    2 cups white sugar

    2 cups butter Crisco

    4 eggs

    2 tsp. Vanilla

    2 tsp. Baking powder

    2 tsp. Baking soda

    1 tsp. Salt

    4 cups flour

    5 cups oatmeal

    8 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate chips

    16 oz. Chocolate chips

    sales tax (6%)

    Total cost $

    Beat the first 4 ingredients, add the next 4 and stir, add the next 2 and stir, and then add the chocolate chips.

    Form into golf ball size, press down slightly on an ungreased cookie sheet

    Bake for 6 minutes at 400 degrees

    Remove from oven and leave 2 minutes before removing from pan

  3. Find one of your favorite recipes. Price each ingredient and then find the total cost. On Wednesday we will be presenting your masterpieces to the class.
