Before I started my Ph.D. at the University of Georgia, I had the opportunity to teach the second part of the year at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia. Even though my theory was very wrong, that teaching high school wouldn't be much different than teaching college, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

I tried my best to be a positive role model, as I think that so many children these days grow up in an "immediate-satisfaction" and "instant gratification" environment. I don't have children, but if I did, I would be strict and protective... the things I myself fought most against when I was a teenager! :-)
