Motivation

We developed a web-based mathematics course designed to teach students necessary College Algebra mathematics skills. This unit is designed to be self-paced. The course is geared more toward college-level students, although the language is easy to understand and the discoveries and examples are fun and based on real-life situations. Mathematics DOES apply to everyday life... and we try to show you how.

We, Signe Kastberg and Terry Barron are doctoral students in Mathematics Education at The University of Georgia. Signe's background is in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, while Terry's is in Mathematics Education and Psychology. Dr. James Wilson is our committee advisor and has been instrumental in the development of this project.

Because of the nature of this project, we will be updating our examples and continually making the program more user-friendly. Please feel free to e-mail us regarding any constructive comments that you have to offer. Signe's e-mail is: skastber@coe.uga.edu, and Terry's e-mail is teebarron@eudoramail.com.
