My name is Patricia Johnson and I am from the British Virgin Islands. I arrived in Athens on August 10, 1998 and I am enjoying it so far. During the first 19 years of my career I taught mathematics and science at the middle school and secondary levels. For the last six years I have been working with teacher trainees at the elementary level, helping them to improve their teaching skills in both mathematics and science. While at UGA I would like to concentrate on the teaching of mathematics at both the elementary and middle school levels so that when I return home I would be better equipped to make a difference in the way mathematics is perceived and taught at these levels. I am also the mother of two children, Patlian and Nkosi.
