Oh, to explain chaos. I could not even begin. Think of this mathematically for an instant. A fractal mosaic (probable future social paradigm), apparent chaos and disorder, but there are patterns. There will eventually be periods of order in a seemingly sea of randomness. It is this model that the Chaote seeks to understand. In appearance it is chaotic but it is neither order nor chaos (which are equivalent). It is an endless seeming folded in on itself again and again. It only depends on ones persepective. To the chaote/ discordian/ erisian/ etc... (I speak on dangerous ground here as we are not a group and will never be a group). Nothing is true and in this Nothing everything is permitted. not a nothing, THE NOTHING. Possibly the religous mind seeks to draw some analogy to "oh god in a different form" this is not a 1:1 relationship. A more appropriate analogy would be (in an old testement-like way) the void before creation. The chaote seeks to induce and experience void. This shatters the individual ego. It is like a purification from all the social crap that we are continually being assailed against. All the things which restrict (sin). By experiencing void, the person (not the individual ego) can restructure hir (his/her) neural net in their own image. This is one example of somthing called the great work which you may or may not have heard of. We choose to look at beLIEfs as methods. Not while operating under a belief but when in trans-cience. As in everything is allowable, we pick and choose and contradict and create... chaos. Apparently at least. We exist in the oblivion which is society. We move amongst you, with hearts of joy and hate, fusion in opposites to a fuller experience. Taoists (sort of) in the fullest sense except, we do and do nothing. Magick can be thought of in this context as a philosophical inducer (even though it is so much much more than that). This is getting too safe now. Now is not to define. Any definition which one can come up with is not valid (mostly that is).
