Jamila Karimah Eagles
I am currently a graduate student at
the University of Georgia (Go Bulldogs)
working on a Master's degree in Mathematics Education. I recently graduated
Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina Agricultural
and Technical State University ( "AGGIE PRIDE") in Greensboro,
NC with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics Education.
Originally I am from a small town called Southport, NC which is located
between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. I chose the University of Georgia
for my gratuate studies because of its outstanding Mathematics Education
Department.
I am a member of The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and also
the Mathematics Education Student Association.
I am the oldest of two children. My sister Taseda is currently working on
a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. My mom Daisy is
also an educator as well as my aunt Edith. I guess there is a history of
educators in my family. My father is a longshoreman.
If everything goes as planned I will complete my master's degree by August
of 1998. Shortly after I complete my master's degree I plan to be married.
My fiance is Corey Brown. He is a recent graduate of The
Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and is currently employed
by Roadway Express Inc..
My long term educational goal is to complete a Ph.D in Mathematics Education
within the next ten years or by the age of 33.
