Investigate the capture/ recapture technique
with a partner. Together, decide on the number of "deer you will mark."
Then, follow the steps below.
- 1. Remove the decided upon number of
Starbursts from the bag. Unwrap each one.
- 2. Replace the unwrapped Starbursts
in the bag and shake it.
3. Take a sample from the bag.
4. Record the number of unwrapped Starbursts in the sample.
5. Write and solve a proportion to find the number of Starbursts in
the bag.
