Sandra Barnett Akin
Mrs. Akin is currently teaching mathematics at Jackson County High School
in Jefferson, Georgia. She has been teaching at Jackson County since 1992.
Prior to that she taught at Hilsman Middle School in Athens, Georgia for
three years.
Mrs. Akin is a graduate student at the University of Georgia in Mathematics
Education. She plans to complete this degree in the summer of 1996. She
received a BS in Mathematics Education in 1989 from the University of Georgia.
Mrs. Akin has one son, Tyler Andrew, two, and is expecting another son in
June. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Robert for ten
years. They live in Nicholson, Georgia a city with no red lights and a chicken
leash law.
