Construction of a triangle given 2 of its angles and total perimeter
To see a GSP sketch click here.

Given the following angles and total perimeter construct a triangle:

The construction of this triangle can be accoplished through the use of projection geometry. The first step in our construction is to construct a line upon which our triangle that will be projected through can be constructed. Copy both angles onto the line. Where the two rays intersect is the other point of our projection triangle.

The next step is to copy the right side of the triangle onto the black line.

Now do the same for the left side.

Construct lines through the endpoints of our total perimeter (red line).

Where these lines intersect is the projection point.

Now construct rays from the projection point through the vertices of our triangle that lie on the black line.

Now the base of our triangle has been constructed. By constructing circles of the length of the right hand segment (red) and the left hand segment (red), we can find the other vertex of our triangle.

Now connect the two base vertices with the intersection point of these circles.

The construction is now complete.
