Jim's 1922 Gibson F4 Mandolin
I have played the mandolin since I was about 12 years old
and own several. The one in the picture on the home page and here is a 1922
Gibson F4. I purchased it a few years ago from the grandson of the original
owner. Neither the son or grandson of the original owner ever learned to play
it so I am the second person to play it regularly. The Gibson Company is more well-known today
for their guitars but some of the historically fine mandolins were produced by
Gibson. Other mandolins I have include an 1895 Washburn, a 1920 Martin A model, and a 1953 Gibson
Florentine electric.
