The golden triangle is an isosceles triangle such that the ratio of the hypotenuse a to base b is equal to the golden ratio, a / b = Φ

From the above figure, this means that the triangle has vertex angle equal to -

    or 36°.

This self-portrait by Rembrandt (1606-1669)... is an example of triangular composition. A perpendicular line from the apex of the triangle to the base cut the base in golden section.
