Assignment #1


We are going to examine the function , and what happens to the function when you replace the four with other numbers (5,3,2..). The following graph is a collection of seven function where the four and the 1 have been replaced scroll down and we will examine this function more closely. This is so cool.

The following graph is the function we will be examining. Notice the function crosses the x-axis at -2, 0 and 2. Now let's look at what happens when 4 is replaced by 5.

What do you notice about the graph now that we have replaced 4 with 5?

Do you notice that the graph still goes through the x axis at 0; however the function now goes through the x-axis at about -2.25 and 2.25.
