Assignment # 10

Investigation #7

Heather Robinson

EMAT 6680, Fall 2003

The equation of the linear function that passes through (7,5) with a slope of 3 is f(x) = 3x Ð 16.  This function can be written as a set of parametric equations É

x = t

y = 3t Ð 16

where 0 < t < 10.

As you can see in this drawing, the set of parametric equations above creates a segment that has a slope of 3 and passes through (7,5).
