For this Square Investigation, square ABCD is given. The points labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4 have been constructed so that distance between pt A and pt 1 is congruent to the distances between pt B and pt 2, pt C and pt 3, and pt D and pt 4. Segments have been drawn to connect each vertex (A, B, C, and D) with a consecutive, counter-clock wise side at the point 3, 4, 1, and 2, respectively. These segments create a quadrilateral (WXYZ) inside the given square ABCD.

It is this quadrilateral, WXYZ, which stimulates our investigation.
