HOMEWORK BINGO !!!

For the warm up students will play homework bingo. This activity should be fun and relaxing and most importantly should not cause any stress towards the students before their assessment. The main idea is this, students should be accountable for all their homework and warm up problems at some point. If the students are assigned a problem they should be graded. The students will have time to revise and redo any problems that they miss by the time the tests rolls around. The general idea of Homework Bingo is to select ten problems to be graded. These ten problems can be marked in the students' notebooks with paper clips and easily graded by the teacher during the test. It is up to the teacher's discretion whether or not to replace the problem after it is drawn. If replaced and drawn again, then it will reward the students who have gotten the problem correct. On the other hand it would double penalize if the problem is incorrect or not done. This may just be incentive to correctly do all problems!

 

Suggestion: When drawing out numbers have an overhead grid ready to easily mark off the problems drawn. If this is kept up on the computer, then one copy can be printed out to cut up for pieces to be drawn. Remember, make a big deal when drawing out the problems, like it is the lottery. Have fun so that your students will too.
