On a personal note, I am 26 years old, married without children (yet)
and I live in Lawrenceville, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta). I enjoy reading,
writing, long hot bubble baths, listening to music (especially Elton John),
going to plays, and spending time with my friends and my husband. I love
the game "Taboo," and challenge anyone to beat me!
On a professional note, I did my undergraduate here at the University of
Georgia. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education in 1992.
I taught in Cobb County, Georgia for three years and then returned to the
University full time in August of 1995 to work on my Master of Education
degree, again in Mathematics Education. When I finish this course (EMT 669),
I will complete this degree. I am currently teaching at Meadowcreek High
School in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and if all goes as planned, I'll be
back next year full time to begin my doctorate in, you guessed it, Mathematics
Education. Around here, they call me "inbred" since I'm getting
all three degrees here (not just because I'm from the South). My research
interests lie primarily in the area of assessment, however I am also interested
in gender equity and teacher beliefs. I love learning, and I love teaching.
I plan to be a professor of Mathematics Education and work with pre-service
teachers when I finish my doctorate.
