Technology Connection:

 

*We are assuming that all students have a personal lap-top to use in the classroom.

After students have gathered their measurements, they will enter the data into an excel spreadsheet that has been opened and labeled at the front of the classroom. Students will have calculated the ratios in their groups on paper. Using the LCD projector, all students will be shown how to enter formulas into Microsoft Excel. It can be easily seen how effecient this method is to find several calculations in a short period of time.

The last six columns use formulas to calculate the appropriate ratios.
