For this assignment, I graphed several
different graphs by changing the coefficient of xy in the above
equations. When the coefficient of xy is zero we have a circle
shown in light blue. When the coefficient is -1 (yellow) or 1
(green) it is the graph of an oval. When the these values range
from -4 to 4, the graphs of these functions go from hyperbolas
at the -4 and 4 to almost parrallel lines at -2 and 2. This is
nice graph to show how the changing of only one value of a function
can completely change the looks of graph. This uses a more creative
way of showing students how the graphs change by changing these
coefficients.
