Tools for the Geometer's Sketchpad

by Kyle Schultz

What are tools?

A tool for Geometer's Sketchpad is a script of steps that produces a specific gemetric construction. Tools are useful as they can save the time required to construct complicated figures, allowing the user more time for analysis of geometric relationships. To use a tool, a specific geometric figure must be constructed. For example, to operate a tool for constructing the circumcenter of a triangle, a triangle would need to be constructed.

How to use tools.

Each table below contains the listed tools that are available for use by users of this website. To access the tools in a given table, click the title of that table. When you click on one of the tool links, a Geometer's Sketchpad file containing that tool will be made available to open and/or download. Once you have opened that file, the selected tool will be available for any sketch with which you are currently working. Have fun!
