I am now embarking on my third career, as a high school math teacher, teaching at Dacula High School in Gwinnett County. After graduating from the University of Florida, I spent 12 years as a electrical engineer designing products for cable tv, satellite communications and wireless data communication, and earning a master's degree from Georgia Tech during that time. After the birth of my 2 children, I took up organic farming as a more family and child-rearing-friendly occupation, and grew gourmet vegetables for restaurants and the Morningside Farmer's Market in Atlanta. This worked well while my children were young, but now they are almost grown, and I thought I would try teaching. I am taking classes here at UGA to get certified, and thinking about a specialist degree.
I live in about the last rural area of Gwinnett County, with my son Daniel, a junior in high school, and my daughter Erica when she is home from Berry College in Rome, GA. We have dogs, cats, chickens and one very old horse.
