Something About:

Jason P. Pickhardt

I was born in Orchard Park which is a suburb of Buffalo, NY.  I spent most of my time before college playing soccer all over New York State and the east coast, as well as internationally in Canada and Europe. After high school graduation I attended Clarkson University as a student in the mechanical engineering department. At Clarkson I was able to play soccer at the collegiate level for two years before I decided to take time off to focus on my studies. In 2006 I graduated from Clarkson with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. After graduation I worked as an engineer for Batchelor & Kimball Mechanical in Lithonia, Ga and then Trautman Associates in Buffalo, NY. While working in Buffalo I began to coach soccer with Buffalo United Soccer Association. It was while coaching that I realized I wanted to work with students on the soccer field as well as in the classroom. Just as my career as an engineer was beginning, I decided to bring it to an end. I moved to Athens in August ’08 and began my work at UGA on my initial certificate and my masters in education. I am currently in my second year and hope to move back to Western NY to begin teaching and coaching after graduation in May. While I’ve been in Athens I’ve come to enjoy the life at a major university and some serious southern hospitality. When I’m not in class or studying I enjoy watching Georgia football, NASCAR, and my beloved Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
