ABOUT ME

My name is Zach Laughlin and I am currently a fifth year senior at the University of Georgia. I am finishing my undergraduate degree in secondary mathematics education where I will be able to teach grades 6-12. The event that brought me to UGA was a baseball scholarship that would allow me to join the Diamond Dawgs as a right-handed pitcher. I pitched at UGA for 3 seasons ranging from 2009-2011 and joined the staff in 2012 as a student assistant coach. Now that my playing career has come to an end, I strive to stay in the game of baseball as long as I can as a coach. My main goal is to become a baseball coach at the college level and eventually make it onto a coaching staff in the SEC.

Four years ago I had to the chance to meet the most genuine and beautiful girl in the world. Fortunately for me, she agreed to marry me this past summer on July 14. Even though we have only been married for a short while, I know that our covenant relationship is divine and something special. We both share a love for music that led us to start a country music duo with the name "Laughlin." We are making our first trip to Nashville this September to record our first demo of one of our original songs.

Math is another love of mine. I love learning new concepts in math for myself and I also love teaching the subject of mathematics. This is why I am very excited about getting own high school math class and officially becoming the math teacher that I strive to be. The excitement of teaching student and them benefiting for your teaching is a felling that is second to none. This is why I chose the path of Math Education!
