about

Nancy Perzel

Hello! I am currently a full-time student seeking my Master's degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Mathematics and Social Studies. In May 2006 I received my Bachelor's Degree from UGA in Middle School Education with a minor in Spanish. After completing my undergraduate studies I taught for five years in Forsyth County. I taught both sixth and eighth grade mathematics and I also enjoyed coaching cheerleading and track after school!

In June of 2011 I married an amazing man, who I'm lucky to call my husband. Todd and I decided to spend our first year of our marriage overseas - teaching English in a small town in southern Spain! It was an incredible experience to live authentically and to learn about and enjoy Spanish culture. We both love to travel and were able to visit many cities throughout the year which helped to expand my perspective of the world.

Here are a few pictures from our travels: In front of the Sultanahmet or 'Blue' Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. Watching a sunset in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Hiking along the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.

Now that I'm back in Athens, I am very excited to be a student again and back at the University of Georgia! I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the abilities of the adolescent learner in hopes to become a better teacher, and to learn new ways to incorporate technology into the math classroom.

Gooooooooo DAWGS!
