Something about me
My Story
I was born in Kwang-ju in Korea. When I was a senior
in the high school, my dream is to study mathematics and become a math
teacher. After entering the department of math. education of Korea University
in 1990 and studying mathematics, I changed my dream. As time has passed,
I realized to have an eager to study math. education more. When I was a
junior in Korea Unversity and took a course of math education, I have much
interest in the relational understanding and instrumental understanding
in mathematics by Skemp's ' The psychology of learning mathematics' . In
that time, I really wanted to study math. education. Since Dr. Whang, a
professor at the department of math. education in Korea University recomended
me to study mathematics in the master's level, I entered the department
of mathematics in Unversity of Georgia in 1999. After finishing my master's
degree in August of 2001, I have contined my Ph. D study in math. education
from the fall semester of 2001. This semester I take the courses of technology
and math, of cognition and of statistical methods in education.
