Education
I have a BS in Math from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY and a Masters of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
I am currently working on both my certification in high school math and my EdS.
Hobbies
My favorite hobby is probably reading, but I also like to run and garden. One of my yearly goals is to run at least one half-marathon in the fall. My husband has run a marathon, but I do not have any aspirations of trying a marathon at this point in time.
Life Goals
One of my goals is to own rental property. With 3 of us in college right now, it is not a financial priority. One of these properties I would like to be at the beach.
For years my focus has been the raising of my two children. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to stay home with them and raise them. As a family we sacrificed a lot of material advantages by not having that second income. I know it was worth it for me, and I hope my children will always value positive intangibles more than material tangibles.
It seems that at this point in time, God is calling me to teach math in the public schools. The process of acquiring my credentials has been more involved than I had first thought. As many of you know it is hard to maintain family sanity, work, and go to graduate school. God has assured me many times that this is what He has called me to do. So for now one of my goals is to be an effective certified math teacher.
My overriding life goal is to be the person God wants me to be and to share His compassion with others. We are the product of many factors in our lives, but we are not the prisoners of that life. Many people are living in a frustrating circle of nonmeaning. Only God can enable us to be what He has called us to be. My pray to all who read this is that you may follow in the plan that God has for your life. "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling..." Ephesians 1:18
