Assumption :The placement of computers in clasrroms is supported by school, and students know basic menu in the GSP.


Day 7. Test & GSP

With the GSP, the students solve some test problems again. It can provide the opportunity to analyse their own error, and they can be accoustomed to the coordinate geometry consept in other way through GSP.


 1-2. a). Find the distance between (1,2) and (3,4).

b). Is the answer to part a the same as the distance between (3,4) and (1,2)?

Students will coordinate the circle of below question using coordinate polt in the GSP. And students will find the other points on the circle.

 1-3. a). What is an equation for the circle with center (-3,5) and radius 1?

b). Give the coordinates of four points on the circle.

First Student have to redraw the below drawing in the coordinate plane using the plot coordinate menu. To plot below drawing, we should name the each points in the coordinates: T will be (0,0), and so on. If students find the coordinates of the each points, the rest will bw solved easily in the GSP.

 2-1. Tom bikes from his apartment to Doris' house following the path shown below in black: 3 miles north, then 2 miles east, then 1/2 mile north, then 1/4 mile west. By air, how far apart are these places.

Students will construct circlein the GSP using plot points menu.

 2. Give the coordinates of the 12 lattice points on the circle . Graph the points.

 4. In right triangle CAB with m<a=90, D is the midpoint of BC. B= (7, 0) and C= (0, 5). What is the length of AD?

 3-1. Let A=(-1, 3) and B=(11, 2). Prove that the point C=(3, -7) is on the circle with center B and radius BA.
