Welcome Student,
You will be given a template in GSP and you will move given shapes using transformational geometry to fill the template. Your overall objective is to fill the template using the least amount of transformations.
You have had experience with performing translations, rotations, and reflections in GSP. The same rules apply here.
To do a translation, you must first mark a directed vector and then select the entire shape to translate.
To do a rotation, you must first mark a center of rotation and an angle of rotation and then select the entire shape to rotate.
To do a reflection, you must first mark the mirror of reflection and then select the entire shape to reflect.
Each figure is labeled with a letter. On a piece of paper keep record of what transformation(s) you must do in order to move that figure to its appropriate place on the template.
If you are not finished at the end of the class period, you may save your work onto a disk. Do this by going to "file - save as" and then choose your disk from the desktop to save on. When you close the application, it will ask you to save or don't save. You must choose "Don't Save" at this point.
