The pedal triangle is the triangle defined by the thick green segments in the picture above. A pedal triangle is constructed from a pedal point. The pedal point(P) is any random point in the plane with triangle ABC. To construct the pedal triangle, draw lines passing through the pedal point that are perpendicular to each of the three sides of triangle ABC. Notice that these perpendicular lines may intersect with the extention of the sides of the triangle, as is the case in the figure above for points R and T. The point of intersection between these perpendicular lines and the sides of triangle ABC are the vertices of the pedal triangle.
