Marcia teaches mathematics at Harlem High School in Harlem, GA where she has taught for the past 13 years. She currently is head of the mathematics department. This year she is teaching Algebra I and PreCollege Mathematics. She has served on the mathematics curriculum committee in Columbia county for the past four years.
She attended Augusta College for two years and received her BS in mathematics education from Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, GA in 1966. She earned her master's degree in mathematics education from the University of GA in Athens, GA in 1994 and is currently pursuing a EdS degree at UGA.
Marcia and her husband Jim live in Harlem. They have four children whose names are Jack, Joe, Jana, and Joni. Their ages range from 23 to 18. Marcia enjoys playing games on her computer, surfing the web, reading, and going out to eat.
