REFLECTION

 

OBJECTIVES: The students will be able to reflect an object over a "mirror." They will recognize the effect of the reflection on the original object (reverse orientation).

PROCEDURE:

I. BRIEF REVIEW OF YESTERDAY'S WORK

A. Dilation

B. Differences between "shrinking" and "enlarging" dilations

II. REFLECTION

A. What is Reflection?

B. What are the defining data?

C. Process

(1) Draw object to be reflected

(2) Construct a "mirror" for the reflection

(3) "Mark" the mirror using the Transform drop-down box

(4) Highlight the object to be reflected

(5) Click "Reflect" command on Transform box

D. Results

(1) Have the original object

(2) Have object's image but with reversed orientation

III. WRAP-UP

A. Regroup

B. Discuss results and another findings

IV. DISMISS
