to see a script that divides any segment into the golden ratio.
Using this script, I created a rectangle whose sides are in the golden ratio
(called a "golden rectangle").
I found the following:
If you cut a square (with side of the smaller side of the rectangle) out
of the golden rectangle, you are left with another (smaller) golden rectangle.

If you add a square to the larger side of a golden rectangle, you get
another (larger) golden rectangle.

The ratio of the length of a diagonal to one side in a regular pentagon
is the Golden ratio.
