Assignment 12 - Problem 1
Using Spreadsheets
In the write-up for assignment 12, I decided to construct a graph of
the function 
, which is a parabola whose vertex is at the origin.
To construct the graph of the function using Microsoft Excel, I let the
x-values be the first column of data and the y-values be the second column
of data. Click here to open the spreadsheet containing
these columns of data. The Excel spreadsheet has the capability of creating
a chart using these two columns of data as the x and y axes values. Hence,
we get the nice parabola shape below:
The Excel spreadsheet can be used to investigate many mathematical ideas
that would normally be difficult and very time consuming.
