Now that our observations are complete and we have determined
that c3 is tangent to both c1 and c2 as point B travels around c1, we turn our investigation towards the construction of the three circles.
What you have been observing has been the
end product of an investigation.
In our exploration, we will begin with c1 and c2, where c2 is internal to
c1.
I will represent the tangent circle as a dashed line circle
to remind you that it is the endproduct, our goal, and we would like to observe any facts about the circles
that will help to construct it.
Turn your attention to the centers of the circles are there any conjectures that you can make about their position to each other?
