page 133 - 135 "The Pythagorean Theorem"
For #1 & 2, You may draw squares with a ruler and compass if that is easier than using the dot paper. Fill in the chart for 3-4 triangles.
Then continue on to #3 and 4.
On #5 just do a-d. Here is a picture of how part a should look. in case you need help getting started...
Omit all of #6. In the discussion just look at A... try one acute triangle and one obtuse triangle.
Part Two
pg. 137 - 138 "Right or Not?"
Complete this activity as directed. If you need graph paper, you can download it from this website (I suggest using the Plain Large Grid Graph Paper)
Part Three
pg. 73 "Exterior Angles in a Triangle"
Please use GSP as directed to investigate exterior angles. Please turn in your answers to Q1 and Q2 but not your gsp file. I would expect one sentence for Q1 and 2-3 for Q2.
pg. 75 "Exterior Angles in a Polygon
Please use GSP as directed to create a polygon and then do steps 2-5. Since you will not be doing this activity with a classmate, remove one of the sides of your hexagon and reshape into a quadrilateral. Repeat steps 2-5 again. Tell me your conjecture... one sentence ought to do.
BONUS (5 pts on Exam #2!!)
What is the formula for the sum of the interior angles of a convex polygon with "n" sides? Include an discussion of how you arrived at this conjecture.
Don't Forget GSP 5!!
