During day 5, students will program the TI-82 caluclator to generate
Sirepinski's triangle. This is an excellent exercise to introduce students
to simple programming. Also, watching the calculator generate the triangle
makes the product of the chaos game more obvious, and students will be able
to visualize the "order out of chaos" idea.
The progam for generating the Sierpinski Triangle is included in the TI-82
guidebook. For adaptations of this program for other TI calculators, click
here.
The second part of the day on day 5 has the students construct Sierpinski's
triangle on Geometer's Sketchpad, and to generate a script for the constuction.
