Activity:  Sides of a Triangle


One three different sheets of paper, draw a right, acute, and obtuse triangle.  (One triangle per sheet of paper.)

Measure the angles and sides lengths for all three triangles.

For each triangle, compare the length of each side with the measure of the opposite angle.  

What can you conclude about the measure of the angle opposite the longest side?  

What can you conclude about the measure of the angle opposite the shortest side?
