Lesson 5:

Polygons and Parallelograms

 


Objectives:

1.  The student will define polygon, vertices, convex, concave, and regular.  The student will know the names of polygons with 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 sides.

2.  The student will discover that opposite sides of a parallelogram are congruent.

3.  The student will discover that opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent.

4.   The student will discover that consecutive angles of a parallelogram are supplementary.

5.   The student will discover that the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

6.  The student will use the properties of parallelograms to find angle measures and lengths of sides and diagonals of parallelograms.
