I have always enjoyed
new experiences since I was a very
young child. In
my mind there is always a new place to
explore. Until just
a few days ago, my eagerness was only in
my heart, but now
I am in America.
It's been a long
time since I attended classes as a student;
therefore, there
may be lots of difficulties for me. During the last
eight years, I have
worked as a math teacher in Seoul, Korea.
I like to teach,
to be with my students, and to talk with them.
However, two years
ago, I strongly felt the need for further
professional study
to help my students overcome their
difficulties in
mathematics. While I was teaching, I felt that I
was serving my own
interests but not serving the interests of
my students. I want
to understand my students' perspectives.
To do so, I want
to learn as much as possible.
