Right Triangles and Trigonometry

Day 1/ Lesson 1 - Similar Right Triangles

Goals:

1. Solve problems involving similar right triangles formed by the

altitude drawn to the hypotenuse of a right triangle.

2. Use a geometric mean to solve problems.

 

Day 2/ Lesson 2 - Pythagorean Theorem

Goals:

1. Prove the Pythagorean Theorem.

2. Use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve problems.

 

Day 3/ Lesson 3 - Converse of Pythagorean Theorem

Goals:

1. Use the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem to solve problems.

2. Use side lengths to classify triangles by their angle measure.

 

Day 4/ Lesson 4 - Special Right Triangles

Goals:

1. Find the side lengths of special right triangles.

2. Uses special right triangles to solve problems.

 

Day 5/ Lesson 5 - Trigonometric Ratios

Goals:

1. Find the sine, cosine, and the tangent of an acute angle.

2. Use trigonometric ratios to solve problems.

 

Day 6/ Lesson 6 - Solving Right Triangles

Goals:

1. Solve a right triangle.

2. Use right triangles to solve problems.
