Lesson Outline:
- All students will be assessed by a quiz over the first four days of the
unit. The following are important concepts which should be assessed:
- concept of a square unit
- area of a square
- area of a rectangle
- area of a trapezoid
- area of a parallelogram
- area of a triangle
- applications of area
- The teacher will lead a discussion of the students conjectures
of yesterday.
- Class will end with a generalization of the area formula
for regular polygons.
