caramels and 28 cent more than jaw breakers. You can buy one of

gummy bears cost?
Let's make C = the cost
of caramels, J = the cost of jaw breakers, and G = the cost of
a package of gummy bears.
G = C - .13
G = J + .28
If you can buy
one of each for a total of $6.39, then C + J + G = 6.39.
By solving for
C and J in terms of G in the above equations, we can use substitution
to find the value of one package of gummy bears.
C = G + .13
J = G - .28
G + .13 + G -
.28 + G = 6.39
3G - .15 = 6.39
3G = 6.54
G = 2.18
Therefore, one
package of gummy bears costs 218 cents, or better yet, $2.18.
