Amanda Newton
I recently completed my undergraduate here at the University of Georgia in Mathematics Education. I want to change students' perspective on mathematics. It is a subject that is viewed negatively by so many and I hope one day my students will learn to appreciate math in a new light.
I moved around a lot when I was younger but my family has now settled down in the country on a farm. I have lived in Athens for over four years now and it is the longest I have lived anywhere. I have three siblings, all of which are no more than three years apart in age. We all are very big Georgia football fans and could not stand to miss a single game. I have two dogs: a Pug and a teacup chihuahua, both of which are more like family members than pets. I hope to one day live in the country with a lot of land so I can have horses as well.
